The Homestead Kids began as bedtime stories inspired by our own children and the adventures of moving to an East Texas homestead. The books follow three sisters as they explore farm life, family, responsibility, and how God works in everyday moments.
Our goal is simple: create warm, clean, family-friendly stories that children can enjoy and parents can feel good about sharing.
Brian grew up in Central Texas and always had a love for reading. His love for knowledge and exploration made books like "The Boxcar Children" come alive for him, and after spending years studying computer coding, cheese making, brick laying, blacksmithing, tree harvesting, hydroponics, and so much more, he decided he would also create a Boxcar Children inspired series for his own children.
In 2019, he had an opportunity to move his family to 3 acres in Central Texas, where he started homesteading and homeschooling. Quickly, the family ran out of space and wanted to move to more land, with East Texas offering this opportunity.
In 2023, his family was blessed with the opportunity to purchase acreage with a home for their family to move to. The Homestead Kids begin their journey at that turning point. Imagining what could be possible, the family begins to explore and learn about their new property.
The family raises dairy cattle, sheep, goats, turkeys, egg hens, broiler chickens, rabbits, and pigs on an ongoing basis, along with gardening. The family enjoys canning, sewing, crafting, building, soapmaking, cheesemaking, and so much more.
What started as short bedtime stories grew into a book series that will be keepsakes for the family for years to come. We hope these stories are heartwarming, memorable, and encouraging for your family too.
